Climate & Weather
Calpe is situated in the province of Alicante with its coast on the Mediterranean Sea.
It has long hot summers and moderate winters complete with warm spring and autumn.
It is surrounded by mountains on all sides which protect the town from the wind.
Temperatures in Calpe are very agreeable all year round. The sun is at its hottest during the summer months, with temperatures rarely falling below 30°C (86°F). Whereas typically very mild winters, boast averages of around 18°C (64°F).
This region (especially the southernmost part of the Costa) is famous for its salt lakes (salt is a major export). This has a major knock on effect on humidity levels, & as a result the air is much dryer than in other parts of Spain & Europe. The low humidity levels coupled with a mild climate, mean the WHO (World Health Organisation) have rated this part of Spain one of the healthiest climates on the planet.
